I'm terrified of awkward silences with people that I don't feel very comfortable with so I tend to rattle on about any old rubbish that not even I care about just to keep the conversation going. I'm so full of nervous energy half the time, I think I just need to relax.

Oh and I do the loo paper thing as well, I think it avoids awkwardness if anything!

Stare people in the eyes until they feel uncomfortable and look away = I win.

Haha not great with awkward silences either, though i go for the approach of humming or whistling to fill it, which can be particularly weird when it's someone I don't know too well and I'm just there whistling Barbra Streisand..

Whisper "i'm so wet" in mens ears, only, after a minute silence, for them to reveal that they're homosexual. :sigh:

looking around the room when someone is trying to talk to me.

completely ignore what they're talking about and change the subject mid-way and ask something really stupid.

I'm the same except I do this even with people I AM comfortable with, haha. Sometimes me being a little nervous can make me more talkative thought which helps to rectify the situation :P haha. I've been afraid of silences since I was really little, though o.O

I have a tendency to not look at people when I'm talking to them, but I don't view it as awkward. If they think it's awkward then I really couldn't care less because that's their problem, not mine. I know that looking at people while talking to them is the "polite" thing to do, but I'd rather not all the same.
Doesn't happen all the time anyway.

Don't know if these still apply but I was always the worst for these.

Always fidget, laugh or talk about anything & nothing whenever a silence approaches. Just depends on who it is though and if I feel comfortable around them.

Also hate going in 2's whenever I'm going out somewhere properly. I'd rather have me and at least 2 others, otherwise I'd feel a little uncomfortable.

Covering my mouth every time I eat, without a doubt. I don't know why I do it and people always ask me that too.

There was this girl in my class few years back who told me she used to smell her shoes after taking them off when she got back home. Now that's...beyond awkward (& nasty).

I sometimes mouth what I'm about to say before I say it. I also often plan out my responses to conversations when alone in my room... then I sometimes forget where I am and do it in college. Awkward.

It doesn't take a man a minute to reveal he's gay... it takes a man a minute to come up with an excuse to get away from a girl coming onto him who he really isn't attracted to.

    Sorry
