I've already applied to Universities, im in my final year of my btec. I have a C in literature but im currently still redoing language. I'm 100% going to get a C at least but will universities look down on me because I'm still resitting language?

I dont have maths(not resitting) either but that's another issue.......I'm just worried about this english situation right now.

I have Key skills maths and key skills communication level 2.

I'm looking to do Film production at University.(different to media studies!)

Unless the course specifically asks for it, I don't think it'll be an issue. But obviously, if they have a lot of applications and need to to weed some people out, you could be an easy target unfortunately. But just wait and see what happens, because obviously we can't predict what the admissions tutor will do at each university.

    Good luck!

Most Film Production courses do ask for a C or above in English at GCSE, and as you're resitting, you probably won't get an offer from the better Universities for Film Production.

Good luck though, worth a shot?

If it comes down to it, dont spend more time at college resitting stuff, unless you really think you should. Just go with the flow, something will come round and you might find your time is better spent moving on from education than staying on getting qualifications

Really....:/ I'm aiming to get atleast DMM in my course, I spent 2 months writing my personal statement and my reference should be strong; I have some experience in film, I've made 10 shorts films so far, my portfolio should be good.

I applied to 2 of the same unis as you
    Arts university college bournemouth
    London college of communications
University for the creative arts farnham
    Portsmouth university
    Kingston university

I think London college of communications is my best shot since it doesn't actually say you need English, it just says 3 gcse's at grade C. It's my 2nd choice anyway so I hope I get in..UCA farnham also say they accept key skills communication level 2 which I have

My situation is remarkably similar to yours, and all of the universities that I have applied to have said as long as I meet the UCAS tariff points, I should be fine. Of course, this will probably vary from course to course and university to university. I recommend contacting your universities and inquiring.

Unless they specifically ask for it, it shouldn't be too much of a problem (although very high end universities may be a bit picky with it).

They'll probably either overlook it or add a grade C in GCSE English Language to the conditions of your offer, I would've thought.

I'm in a similar situation to you too.

I am applying for a media related course and currently re-taking my GCSE English and GCSE Science (I should be re-taking maths but I am not, but I do have Key Skills level 2 in application of number).

I completed my BTEC last year (though it's not in Media ) and I got DDD.

I am hoping the Uni's accept me! I sent off my application yesterday, so I have got no offers so far.
