Hi, sorry i am really new to Ou and still dont really understand all of it.

I took the Sk185 cource as part of my OU YASS and have got my results. When i looked at it, all it said is that I Passed.

Is that all you can get? a pass or fail?? As i read somewhere that you can get distinctions and stuff based on what percentage you got.

    Please can someone explain??

    Thanks

I don't know anything about SK185 specifically, but many of the level 1 courses are just pass/fail so I imagine that's why you haven't got a grade.

    Congrats on your result

Yep, all Level 1's are either a pass or a fail. They also aren't counted towards your degree classification.

I want to double check. Does it mean that if I want to do a history degree - then it would be possible to do a mix of any subjects at level 1 ? Just to get a taster.

Here's the qualification description on the OU website. The 60 point arts level 1 module AA100 is now compulsory, and there are another 240 points worth of compulsory modules above level 1. Therefore you're left with a 'spare' 60 points which could be made up from any module(s) you choose at any level. So yes, if you wanted to do a number of short level 1 modules you could use these towards your history degree as part of that 'free choice' 60 points. You might find that you'd rather opt for an extra level 2 or 3 course though, when the time comes.
