    Question: The curve C has equation y= 2x^2 - 10x + 16. The point P has coordinated (3, 4) and lies on C. Find equation of the tangent to C at P.

    Any help would be grateful thanks

    Find derivative and substitute x.

    dy/dx = 4x-10
    = 12 -10 = 2

    Gradient = 2

    Find equation for tangent. Use gradient, substitute in points of P to find y-intercept.

    y = 2x + C
    4 = 6 + C
    C= 6 - 4 = -2

    y = 2x - 2
