Back in Year 9, I chose to do an AS level in ICT instead of a full course GCSE, and ended up with the following at the end of Year 11:
AS Level in ICT (B grade)
2 A* Full GCSEs
6 A Full GCSEs
1 A Short GCSE
1 B Short GCSE
I know that 8/9 GCSEs is not as many as many people do, and was wondering a few things...
1) Do I enter this as a normal AS level on UCAS application (2012 entry) and just put that it was taken in 2010, or do I need to say something because it was taken early?
2) Do I get UCAS points for this and can it count towards any offers?
3) Does this put me in a weaker position than other candidates because I've got fewer GCSEs? (currently doing 4 AS (5 with Critical Thinking) and will do 3/4 A2)
4) My school told me it's not counted as an AS level and it's counted as 2 A* grades at GCSE. I can find absolutely nothing to support this, and my certificate states it's an AS level. Are they wrong?
Thanks in advance.
