    I hate that, Catch-22 situations.

Work experience is always an option.

When you feel you have to work for free in order to get a job it's no longer voluntary work, it's forced labour. Such a situation is allowed to be milked by companies because people are lured into it with high expectations. Why should anyone have to work for free for months to get a job? It's all bull****.

Graduate apprenticeships? I didn't know those existed.

Do you live anywhere near a Vertex office?
My mum works there, and they're always taking people on. Next summer she'll be lining up a job for my friend Alex in IT for 6 weeks (potentially more if he doesn't go to university)

They always have vacancies, and if its not in something you initially wanted, you can put in for a transfer to IT. As long as you've worked hard in your first couple of weeks they'll do it for you.

    Salary/employee level isn't fantastic, but it's experience.
