What edition would you recommend for use at A level and why?

The Ardan, it's has lots of good high quality notes, or Heinemann Advanced for the same reason.

I also use the Arden edition as my teacher recommended either it or the Cambridge Shakespeare. It's extremely helpful (as it practically has more notes than text), but you've got to be careful not to get bogged down in it. It elaborates on practically every single detail, so you need to be selective with it and not let it double your reading time. If you can manage that I'd definitely recommend it though.
