I accidentally bidded WAY too high on an item, and I have no idea to back out of this item! I don't have the money and I don't know what to do because I've won the item

I have seen lots of people re-list things on eBay saying the person didn't pay for it, wasn't a genuine bid etc., so I'm sure there is a way of getting out of paying the money. Have you searched on eBay's FAQs?

If the owner chooses he/she can relist the item or open an unpaid item case where you'll have to pay for the item within a certain amount of days. If you don't you'll get an unpaid item mark/warning, i think if you get two or three of these they'll ban your account. I've got one so far so its ok. If you don't really sell too much on ebay and don't have a great deal of feedback you should be ok?

Contact the seller and see what they say first of all.

Email seller, explain what happened assuming you still want to bid the person will probably be cool about it

it'll be fine, just contact the seller, and he/she will offer the item to the second highest bidder
    happened to me!

I think if you can arrange it with the seller, there's a feature that allows the seller to offer the item to the second best bid since you no longer want the item.
