Im in so much pain, back advice needed..

I woke up yesterday morning (Thursday) and as soon as I got in the shower, noticed my back was hurting quite badly...

As the day went on I noticed that walking (the clunk of my legs) made it hurt even more.. and the only time it didnt hurt was when I stood in a certain position.

I trotted on trhough my 7 hours of lectures getting gradually more pissed off about the pain.. and when I got back to college spent the evening laying down in the one position that doesnt hurt too much...

Woke up today, and despite it feeling better in the night, it now feels worse than ever...

WTF is going on, Im so scared about it. Its so painful Im actually not able to walk anywhere other than in college, and even that is INCREDIBLY difficult. Im very worried, and im going to have to miss a day of lectures now.. which I genuinely didnt want to do...

Im the kind of person that would play sport through injuries normally, but im going to have to skip badminton, miss my football cup match tomorrow, and miss badminton training tomorrow night.

I am so pissed off right now... the pain makes me want to cry. Seriously. And its fairly constant dull aching. Just really sharp when I move. This sucks so much... and I have no painkillers handy.
ok, i posted a thread about pain in muscles...and then, I found someth on net, the desease calles FIBROMALGYA...and you might have it too...but I dont want to scear or anth, you should see a doctor for sure, it is just a supposeing...check more info about it on net!!!!

Go to your GP as soon as possible. GPs are notoriously confused about back pain but you might get some sort of diagnosis if you're lucky. You're more likely to get painkillers.

If he/she can't do anything about it, see if you can book yourself an appointment with an osteopath (it's the only thing that's worked for my back). It's best to go for one who's been recommended by a friend, so ask around.

Rest it as much as you can. Is it a muscular pain? If so, take some Ibuprofen to relax the muscles and ease any swelling. You might also want to grab a bag of frozen peas, wrap them in a tea towel and stick them on the bit that hurts the most (while lying down, obviously). There's also Deep Freeze, which is a tube of stuff like Deep Heat but which works much better, in my experience.

The important thing is to rest it as much as possible without letting it seize up. Get up and wander around a bit every hour or so, but don't do anything too energetic.

And get yourself to that doctor!
Do you have pain in other parts of your body? eg your legs?

Back pain is usually the result of disc/muscle or ligament damage. Disc pain is usually in older people but not always. Muscle pain is probably what is wrong with you but without seeing a doctor you won't know for sure. Muscle pain may be acompanied by internal bleeding which may lead to swelling/haematoma. Are your muscles hard to the touch? Ligament damage is diagnosed by exclusion and is usually a deeper pain.

It could also be something to do with long-term damage caused by bad posture and inherited body-shape (that's what mine's all about). But you won't know for sure until you GO TO THE DOCTOR!

(In fact, you might not even know then, but it's worth a shot).

My sister has had really bad back for two years now as she thoguht it would be a good idea to try cossack (russian) dancing on my laminate floor! Was getting better but physio screwed it up completely and shes had to have botox injections in her back!

Anyway, she sleeps with an electric blanket on as the heat stops it seizing up. Rest up, have walm baths and try to get up every so often to stop it seizing up. Id definetly give some sort of physio/osteopath a try as it can work wonders.
Go to the doctors...don't hang around if it really hurts!
