how can you tell which molecule has which intermolecular force?

I know when it has hydrogen bonding .. but want about permanent dipole dipole and van der waals (temporary dipole dipole)

For permanent dipole-dipole, there has to be a large difference in elcertonegativities of the atoms in a molecule, for a large dipole moment. For inctance hydrogen chloride.

if you have a highly electronegative nucleus (Halide, Oxygen, Nitrogen) next to a less electronegative nucleus (hydrogen, carbon) you get a permanent dipole.
