I was young and foolish in my degree decision, I am in the final leg of my English undergraduate degree, I've enjoyed it and it has been challenging and rewarding, but I have realised recently, that it was medicine I really wanted to do, just in my childishness of wanting to break the stereotype of the Asian kid who was good at sciences I chose English. Now I'm looking at doing a Medicine degree once I graduate, but due to the timings I will just be missing out on the last year of normal tuition fees. I'll only be able to apply for 2012 and with a possible 9 g a year tuition fee AND no government funding for me as its my second degree, its a somewhat daunting prospect. My parents are willing to support me but it will certainly be tough. Does anyone know if there will be any funding available at all for someone in my position? I heard somewhere that studying for a vocational course as a second degree can result in a maintenance loan perhaps? And does anyone have any idea when all the universities will start announcing their planned fees?
Also any general advice on my situation would be greatly appreciated, this is an issue with many pros and cons and I want to ensure I'm making the right decision and taking everything into account.
And actually passed?
