Food and Drink

I feel neo-depressed at the moment and i know its my fault - my lifestyle - lack of exercise at moment isnt helping things, cant jog at moment for a particular reason. Anything out there...not sure if im lacking iron, i take 1 cod liver oil tablet each day and one multivitamin and iron tablet...i need to get on the straight road so if anyone could recommend me any particular foods/drinks, that work well for them...that'd be great. My poor diet, its having an adverse effect on me, come back to uni for last year and its hit me hard - from eating well in india on holiday there and being fed well back home...

What are the particular foods good for serotonin?
Going to go food and drink shopping this afternoon to rid myself of feeling bad...will take a visit to docs after weekend if im not feeling better, iron deficiency perhaps...but my eyes are exhausted...ive had this before and just get it now and then. Sorry for whingeing, im after no sympathy vote just advice, thanks..

Thanks..

Any food that is brightly coloured will help you feel better (read this somewhere, possibly Nigella), but I would recomment making a huge stir fry of mange tout, carrots, spinach, broccoli, beans, bean sprouts, baby corn, mushies, etc and cook it so that the veg is still a bit crunchy, with some garlic, ginger, chilli if you like and soy/oyster sauce. It will glaze the veg and make it look so pretty pretty. Veges are great for when you feel down, so long as you don't cook the **** out of them they are full of vitamins, antioxidants and creamy goodness. It will also give you something to take your mind off, put Radio 1 one and dance like a monkey - works for me!

A salmon steak is great too, cook it over a high heat, perhaps with a similar glaze as above and again, don't cook the **** out of it. This has lots of good omega3 oils which are great for you.

In fact, anything with the holy trinity of garlic, ginger and chilli will make you feel better IMHO. Just make it yourself, don't get it from takeaway as they use powered stuf and garlic from a jar YUCK.

Chicken soup? Works for me! PM me and I will send you recipe!!
