I'm currently a first year law student with Exeter, but want to move back home to Southampton, and go to uni there instead. I'm making enquiries at present, does anyone have any helpful insight?
In my favour, Exeter seems to be considered as on the same level as Southampton for a law degree, if not slightly 'better', so I'm not making a massive league table jump. I also have EC's coming out my ear holes, such as being a patron of a children's society that is based in Souffampton, a couple of national awards and some other stuff that would support an application. The course structure at my desired uni is also exactly the same as at Exeter for the first year in terms of modules covered, so there wouldn't be complications there.
The downsides to my impending transfer attempt are that I'm two points below the entrance standard at IB (they want 36pts, I have 34) and that there may not be a space for me if not enough people drop out/transfer out of Southampton.
Anyone gone through the allegedly messy and bureaucratic uni transfer process before..?

It is not very bureaucratic, as long as your modules match the other university's modules and you get at least 2:1 marks in the first year........if they have any places left of course(usually they do because some people fail the first year).Last edited by cybergrad; 19-12-2010 at 21:37.
