Is it possible to transfer from MORSE to Economics after the first year provided that you do the necessary additional economics reading over the summer before the start of the second year (if needed)? Or is it not at all possible to transfer? Thanks

You should check with the economics department, but I would say that is wouldn't be possible since there is only one economics module in the first year module of MORSE, and there will be lots of prerequisites in the following years where reading is not sufficient. It would be more probable that you could transfer to maths and economics if you have taken the right modules. In that case you should ask the maths department about the possibility of this.

    Transferring to Another Degree
It is possible, with the permission of the relevant department, to transfer from the first
year of MORSE to closely related degree schemes such as Mathematics, Mathematics
and Statistics, Mathematics and Economics, and so on. In every case it is necessary
to fill in and sign an official change of course form. Course transfers are only
permitted during term 1, the first week of term 2 and at the end of the academic year
    when examination results are known.
Sounds like transfers to Maths and Economics are more likely.
Are you a current 1st year?

On interview day the 4th year student showing us around said it would be possible to change to Maths/Stats but it would be more difficult to transfer to Economics because MMORSE is a degree offered through the statistics department.

However, he also said it's such a board degree, there is a choice of modules especially after the first 2 years I'm sure you could specialise in economics.
