Losing weight too easily?

During the beginning of this year, I lost quite a bit of weight. I did give up junk food (and chocolate for lent), and did more exercise, but honestly it was just to be healthier as part of a new year's resolution, and not to specifically lose weight.

Then recently, my friend told me that she had actually been very worried that I'd had an eating disorder during this time, but I really hadn't, I hadn't actually been aware that I'd been losing weight (except for when I went to the doctor and was actually told I was a bit underweight for my height, but thats another story). I didn't really notice I was getting thinner either, I just thought shops were making clothes bigger sizes.

And I genuinely had been eating as much as normal.

And last year I lost nearly half a stone in a week because I was on holiday, and didn't like the food there, but that wasn't intentional either.

I'm just wondering, do some body types lose weight a lot more easily than others, or should I just be naturally thin, or what? I'm back to the size I was before noe, but I'm a wee bit worried...

Some people have a faster metabolism than others - it's nothing to worry about, it's just how your body is. You're very lucky!

er... thanks :p:
it's just a bit disturbing that's all. I went from a 10 to a 6 in about a month  but you can't really say "erm.. i think i'm getting too thin" without sounding like an arrogant prat.

i just dont actually see myself any thinner or fatter when i look in the mirror. it's weird!
I lost quite a bit of weight lately but then for a bit I wasn't eating lunch and I wasn't really hungry! There were also things going on that were stressing me out quite a bit! Anyhow I went down a dress size to a size 8 or less! It was a bit worrying really cos I lost quite a lot of weight in a short time...

When I lost the weight this year, I was eating brekkie, lunch, lots of random snacks (generally biscuits or slices of bread) and then tea. And I eat cereal at random times of the day too. So I dodn't see how just cutting out the junk foods was making me lose weight, because I was still eating plenty!
Could it be that I'm a thinner-than-average person, and the junk food was keeping me as an average person?

When I was on holiday though, I hardly ate anything, just toast + jam in the morning, and chips and apples for tea, cos the food was RANK. Was in Spain, by the way, I can't stand fancy food.

If you were a size 10 while eating quite a bit of junk, then you probably have quite a fast metabolism and just don't carry much weight. So when you eat less, you'd lose weight easily. But it could be that you'd choose to eat more, to keep yourself at a healthy weight for your height.

Ah well, at least you'll never have to worry about obesity. I have to practically starve myself to lose even a pound.

well when i do lose the weight, it comes off weird places lol.
But off my ass too, which isn't so bad heehee. Still weird, i'm worried that some day I might be in a postition where i can't get much food (like if my plane crashes on a desert island for instance) for a long time, i'll get very underweight.

So, if I shuld keep eating the junk to remain at a healthy weight, are there any healthy foods that would keep me there too? I eat tonnes of pasta, bread etc. Mmmm bread
*runs off to stuff face with bread*
I think if you eat a healthy diet that is balanced then its ok but filling up on junk food isn't good cos it is sooo unhealthy and most of it tastes foul especially ready meals cos they're really salty! I'm not sure whether I'm a size 10, an 8 or even less than that. I wear different sizes all the time. I've got some Gap Jeans that are a size 8 (UK size!!) and those are way too big but then I bought some from Dorothy Perkins that are size 8 and they fit fine... hate it when shops are like that!

Hi Dreamy_Girl

As long as you're eating a balanced diet and getting the right amount of calories a day (I think it's 2000 for women) then you shouldn't be losing weight.

If you're a size 6, I certainly wouldn't recommend losing more weight, intentionally or not.

You don't need to eat unhealthily to gain weight though - eg junk food. Try drinking full fat milk, keep up with the bread/pasta and make sure you get plenty of vegetables/fruit - and protein (meat/fish) to build up your muscles (rather than adding fatty tissue).

If you look at your body everyday (eg in the mirror) then you are unlikely to notice that you are losing weight - so I'm not surprised that you were unaware of it.

I was aware I was losing weight but only cos the number on the scales was getting lower and lower but also cos clothes that used to fit weren't fitting!

Hey, i'm an 8/10 again now, which i much prefer. Was looking at my girl friends today (not in pervy way) and the ones with a bit of meat on em looked so much better than the stick thin ones. It's so funny, i'm in two 'cliques' (one in-school, one out-of-school) and in one i'm the curvy one, and in the other i'm the skinny one! Heehee.

Having boycotted most fast-food chains, and not liking chips or crisps, when I say junk food, I mean cookies or sweets.

Does anyone else find that when they are doing exercise they dont feel as hungry as when you do just couching around? 'sweird.
I've never really noticed that...my appetite varies quite a lot depending on how tired/
stressesd/ PMT'd/ Ill etc I am! You'd think you'd feel more hungry when exercising cos you're burning up energy...weird! I should do more exercise...I walk a lot but I used to swim quite a bit but haven't been for ages! Was gonna go today actually but I've got a cold and I don't want to push it!!

I walk EVERYWHERE! I like walking  but also do dancing and hockey. They're fun. I could never go to the gym, running and running and getting nowhere does nothing for me or my competiveness!

My weight is yet to have altered perceptibly in two years' physical development. Terrifying, no?
If it hasn't altered then thats good (except if you were morbidly obese of course!!)

5'10"; 9,5st: I beg to differ. (Not least because, inter alia, this level of consistency is quite frankly boring.)
Maybe you need to change your diet or do different exercise...sometimes it reaches a plato and changing something gets it moving again.

Profesh - what's wrong with your weight? Was a bit bored so I calculated your BMI, and it said you were in the "healthy" range! I suppose the low end of it. I take it that's what the physical development is for, weight gain?

I'm not underweight, however; and find the status quo, however uninspiring, nonetheless preferable to being fat.
So....the problem is...??? I could just be being thick here but I'm not too sure what you're saying exactly...
