I have the most amazing best friend but I think we're so close that it's actually becoming damaging to both of us. We're both at uni and last christmas I went out with some people off my course. I had a great time but then my friend started to be really 'off' with me. I didn't understand why since she's always talking about people off her course but so that this didn't upset her I stopped hanging around with other people. I have to keep making excuses and tbh, they're getting pretty old. It's embarrassing for me but I don't want to have to go through what I went through last year with my friend.
Anyway, I'm now at home and she's stayed in halls for a bit. She's being really weird when she texts/emails me and it feels like she's snapping at me for no reason. Now though, I'm starting to think that she's hanging around with other people and because I'm not there it's the perfect oppertunity for her. I never get to socialise outside of our friendship but it's fine for her.
I'm starting to really resent her because she's always talking about people off her course but I'm in my third year and have no close friends apart from her. I'm starting to get jealous.
We're really close but I'm starting to feel trapped. I really don't want to hurt her feeling but I think we're holding each other back. Any advice?

do you only have each other as friends wtf? tell her to do one and go and make new friends
and only spend time with her when you have time to do it.

Why don't you just tell her how you feel

You're only allowed one friend?! What the hell? Tell your friend to man up and get some friends of your own! If my friends started acting like that every time I met someone new, I would not be too pleased and have to have words! You have to be blunt that you're meeting new people, but make it clear you won't forget her.
