1. The curve y = 5rootx is transformed by a stretch, scale factor 1/2, parallel to the x-axis. Find the equation of the curve after it has been transformed.

If it is stretched parallel to the x axis , it'll be x over c . So x over half, so x should be multiplied by 2 to get the denominator over 1?

Is the answer 10root x ?

Nope.

That scales the y-axis by a factor of 2. You must apply the change to "x", exactly "x", not any function of x. Replace x itself with x/(1/2)

It'd be y= 5root2x ?

As x/1/2 , need to multiply the 1/2 by 2 to get 1 , so also multiply x by 2 ?
