Remember that the could be positive or negative. So could be rewritten as Because if was negative, taking the modulus would make it positive. Then it's just a simple case of moving around the constants.

But wouldn't that then equal,

Which isn't equivalent to . It's necessarily true, I think.

What happens when you plus 4? You cant just leave everything on the left.
