My girlfriend is applying for a foundation diploma in Art at LCC.

Do you think it's best to send it off before or after Christmas? I said before, but she's worried that hers will just get forgotten about if nobody's there over Christmas.

It doesn't matter. As long as she sends it when it's finished and as good as it can be. If waiting until after Christmas would allow her to work on her personal statement more then she should wait. If it's sent before the deadline it will be considered and cannot be forgotten.

It also depends on if they wait until all aplications are in (i.e. closing date) before chosing or do it on a first come first serve basis. It generally doesn't matter too much (it won't be forgotton about though) but it might if they were massively over subscibed per place.

I honestly believe that it doesn't matter at all. In fact, your probably in a better position by applying earlier if anything! I already have 5 replies from my 5 choices (4 offers and one unsuccessful).

It is dependant upon the course, but in my case it is proof that a lot of universities do make offers before all of the applications are in.

Doesn't matter, nobody will be there to check it now anyway. Most places have gone on Christmas hiatus by now and the rest will follow within the next couple of days so it makes no difference whether she gets it sent now or in three weeks; it won't be looked at before January anyway.
