Hey, so I'm on my laptop and I let windows update download any updates I need. But one keeps failing and I don't know why... it's the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2. When I go to install it, it downloads almost instantly (obviously the file is stored in a temp file somewhere) and then it proceeds to create a restore point and install etc. but then it fails. It gives an error code which I can look up, but I can't find any help on microsofts wonderful website.

Does anyone know how I can get it to work? Any help is appreciated

What's the error code that you get? There are several suggestions for possible fixes here, including a troubleshooting tool that will perfoerm the first five suggestions automatically. My instinct would be to try deleting temporary files (possibly corrupt?), as per step nine in that link.

    Error code 84C40007

But I just found a solution on the internet. If I remove .net framework 4 the update should work

    Thanks for the help!
