    hey guys,

i am new to all this so it wld be really helpful if i got some ideas on how to approach an issue i am struggling with. Basically, i help a few of my mates with their uni work and one of them suggested that i should try n see if i can become a teacher. i majored in psychology and got a first class but this was in 2008 and my A levels are ABB geography, psychology, and eng lit (respectively). i went for a few days to observe a school and got more scheduled for next term but i handed in my app on the 15th dec and from reading alot of posts here, it seems a little late so i am looking to see how can i go about doing a GTP just incase i do not get a place at ioe. all help is really appreciated as i feel absolutely clueless on how to go about lookin for a gtp place.

    thanks

A GTP is not a back up to failing to get a PGCE place. GTP places are far far fewer than PGCE places, and generally they are applied to through the school as it is them who are paying you. The GTP route is for people with more experience as you are basically expected to get on with your own teaching from week 1!
