Disgusting, IsraHell are treating Ethopian Jews the same way as Palestians even though they stem from the Ethopian Jews in the first place!!!

"These blacks. Who brought them to the country? Are you even Jews? All these blacks should be taken back to Ethiopia. I'll send them back to Ethiopia. You are a stupid people, you are damaging our country and don't even belong here."

I'm sure you could interview a few bnp supporters and get a similar message. Why pick solely on Israel when there are tons of more racist countries? (most of eastern europe for example)

And why shouldn't they? Treating them differently is racist, isn't it?

Black Israelis seemed fairly well-integrated when I was there. Granted, the civilians were invariably poorer than most of the white Jews, but in the IDF they seemed comfortably integrated.

I'm no expert, for sure, but I didn't notice any racism toward blacks who were also Jewish.

I think the reason why episodes of racial discrimination against Ethiopian Jews in Israel gets particular interest is because (A) Jews are in many ways perceived as an ethno-religious group and because (B) black Jews are a minority within a minority.

Yep, simply being a minority is enough to attract negative attention.

To put things in perspective they were being murdered back in ethiopia so still a massive step for the better.

whut, why? isn't discussion the whole point on TSR? however, your sig is very cute.

if what OP said is true - how ironic, given that Israel was originally conceived as a place where jews could live without persecution. However, i'm more inclined to agree with this:

Ethiopians are not persecuted in Israel.

It's true that they are relatively poor, but they came from country where the main occupation was basic agriculture, to a service based economy, with very little relevant skills.

It's going to take at least one or two generations until their condition improves, but it has already improved when compared to what they had in Ethiopia.

I completely agree, as I said in the second part of my message
In terms of racism, their situation is probably similar to that of immigrants in the 60s and 70s in Britain...it'll tide over eventually, people need time to adjust.

Yes, but the bnp is not exactly the same as Israel, apart from being discrimatory against muslims. It's not exactly "picking" on Israel. Yes there are more racist countries than Israel, but they at least own their country and weren't given it out of sympathy.

So what are you saying, that Israel should be judged according to some unique standard
by which no other country is judged?

South Africa against white people has to be the most racist at the moment.

No, I never mentioned that at all. I'm saying that Israel is just as racist as any other country. Infact it's probably more racist than most.

No, that's actually what theths was saying, and you disagreed with him and said that:

Yes there are more racist countries than Israel, but they at least own their country and weren't given it out of sympathy.
So what does this mean, if you're not implying that because of your perception of Israel's history it should be held to different moral standards?

    Isreali government are really opressive.
Seriously, the world should open it's eyes.
There are many good people who also agree that isreal is a terrorist state.
I don't even need to go into their actions, even BBC reported the MAJOR war crimes
a womens leg was sprayed with an acidic chemical or something of the sort, and her both legs were bare
    just her flesh
she had to endure undescribable pain

Hang on, yes britain invaded palestinien lands and allowed isrealis in BUT
IF YOU LOOK AT IT, OVER THE HEARS, ISREALI LANG GOT BIGGER AND BIGGER, AND THE PALESTINIENS WERE THEN PUSHED INTO A SMALL CORNER.
They did not only take land, the opressed innocent people and stole land, killed children, and commited many attrocities
over 1000 innocent civilian deaths in the palestinien side... ATLEAST if not considerably more
i am talking about the recent war there
