Don't be so stupid about it. They're not there to 'feel you up', just to check that you're ok. It's just their job to have a look at your vagina. Seriously, get over it.

And whoever said that there needs to be a female chaperone... well I'm pretty sure that this is also wrong. So, so wrong.

Grrrrr.

It's obvious that they aren't paid for feeling up people. But we all know how check can turn to.
Your "Grrrrr" explains everything.

i couldnt care less as long as its over with asap. #Male or female its the same procedure. Last time I went I had a man, it was awkward but to be fair it would have been awkward with a woman too. I got asked if I wanted a female chaperone but tbh one person checking out my vajayjay is plenty enough.

If any of you had ever done a gynaecology or urology job, you'd understand just how unsexy it really is. Tbh the OP's questions sound far more creepy than any gynae examination.

As for a chaperone, it is GMC guidance that one should be offered, but it's not an absolute requirement as some patients may not want one, and it may not always be practical/safe.

Open your legs?
Thought of being felt up?
Comfortable with the situation?

Yes, for some naive users I might sound creepy. Sorry but the world creepy even at daytime in your healthcare centre. Grow up.

I wouldn't mind. They're just doing a job.

Seeing your posts on other threads I see I will not reach your level of deviance. But thanks for your words.

I'm not a deviant, I just have a very crude sense of humour. You on the other hand ask girls personal stuff like whether they feel comfortable with a male gynaecologist touching their junk and other pervy stuff.
I wonder if the women get wet

I remeber hearing about this really fat woman who couldn't get any sex so she used to push her tampon too far up into her pussy, this gave her an excuse to go to the doctor to get it removed, when he would remove it she would orgasm, she did this multiple times

pathetic fatties shouldn't even be allowed sex

What happens if the doctor is intersex though. IE: Neither Male or female :lolwut:

I did work experience with a male gynaecologist today. He was completely professional and I see no problem with it really. Although, I did wonder why he chose to specialise in ob/gyn then again, I asked myself why ob/gyn appealed to me and I can't think of an answer for it :dontknow:
I dont think i'd have a problem with it. As I go to uni in Wales I've had to have smear tests from the age of 20. Everyone's nervous about booking it at first, but once they've had one..we are all so blase about it!
Like others have said, if your friend is seriously concerned then she should lodge a complaint, but she needs to think about the fact that this is his job and it's very unlikely he was 'feeling' her up. It sounds like quite a childish comment tbh =/

Lesbian.

Really? That's utterly pathetic if it's true!

It's probably more for the sake of the patient rather than to keep an eye on the doctor.

You can be a colourless clown but I cannot ask them about how they feel in a concrete situation? GROW UP.

Surely a chaperone is important in a situation like this, given the room for allegations that could damage a doctors career? Surely most doctors would want someone else present in the room, if not actually watching as it were?
I originally went to a female doctor (not by choice) for a breast check after I found a lump. After a few times visiting her, I was then referred to a male doctor at the hospital. At the hospital appointment there was a female HCA and my boyfriend in the room along with the doctor, but they really didn’t need to have been there. He was very nice and I felt very comfortable with him.

You kidding, aren't you?

Not at all. I'd feel much more comfortable with a female doctor.

I don't understand how you could do that unless you cut the string off first.

Do you feel comfortable with it? If he tells you to open your legs...? Is it still okay for you? When he has to perform some checks in your private zone...and has to touch there, is it okay? I ask this because I had a friend who told me that she her gynecologist might been feeling her up? Have you ever felt like that?

Male doctors aren't supposed to carry out any inspections etc involving 'intimate areas' unless theres a female doctor or nurse in the room. I think so anyway, I remember being told that. I had to have a speculum and abit of poking around up there a while back with my male doctor, I didn't feel comfortable with it but then again I wouldn't have, even if it was a female doctor

I'm a student midwife - so only see the obs side of obs and gynae (a lot of gynaecologists are often obstetricians) but ALL the dr's male or female at my trust should be chaperoned when performing intimate examinations which is a little bit ridiculous IMO when the same rule doesnt apply to midwives.

I'm not sure if its a hard and fast rule as such though, I think sometimes the dr's ask just cus its easier to have an assistant when performing speculum examinations and such, not really for other purposes.

Is that your answer to every critiscism?

And why do you want to know how they feel? Planning on going into Gyenocology? Its just a bit strange otherwise...
