Hey guys, just wondered if you could help me out with my problem.
This year I have applied to 4 medical schools and a backup biomedicine course. I have recently decided that, should my medical applications be deemed unsuccessful, I would much rather study computing science and maths as a joint honours degree as opposed to studying biomedicine.
The problem is, I have already received an unconditional offer to biomedicine at the University of Glasgow. I am aware that if the course that I wanted to switch to was part of the School of Life Sciences I could simply choose that as my honours degree at the end of second year studies. However, the computing studies and maths joint honours degree is part of the School of Computing Science.
I was wondering if it would be possible to contact the university and request a change of major, and if it was deemed impossible, would I be able to change my major at the end of the first year of biomedicine, taking into account the fact that I have the entry requirements to both courses, and I will (hopefully) do well in my first year of university.
Thanks for reading my wall of text, any help would be appreciated.
P.S. Just for reference, I am currently in S6 studying Adv Higher Maths, Biology and Chem and Higher Business Management with predicted grades AAAB respectively, and I achieved AAABB in Higher English, Chemistry, Computing, Biology and Maths in S5.
When can you expect yours?
