I have an offer for Arabic and I'm most likely going to to firm Manchester- I am in love with it and I really couldn't tell you why However, my parents are absolutely massive on Exeter because it's one of our local universities and a lot of their friends have gone there (and done quite well for themselves). They're both an ABB offer so I need to choose one over the other.
What are some of the reasons that make Manchester better than Exeter, and almost every other university? I want to recite this thread to them! Just to let you know, I'm not going to let my parents bully me into going to Exeter- I am loving Manchester and intend to go there, but as they're going to be supporting me (like they have done for the past 17 years!) financially I think I owe to them to try and make them feel safe and comfortable in my choice. I want them to be proud to say that their daughter goes to Manchester.
In terms of general prestige, funding, employment, quality of life.....what makes Manchester awesome?
What do you think?
