calories a day

I know it varies for people of different activities/ages/metabolism etc. but roughly how many calories do you guys eat a day?
I know the "recommended daily intake" is around 2000 for women, 2500 for men (the "average man and woman" kinda thing) but was wondering if people think they do eat about that or whether they reckon its more/less?!

I've been keeping a record of my calorie intake over the last week or so and it has varied from 850-1300.

I am aware this is probably too low but I eat lots and only drink water so...

have u noticed your weight changing at all?
Me?I don't know...I haven't weighed myself....I lost half a stone over the summer and then another half in the first 4 weeks of uni....which is odd because I thought I'd gained weight!

i guess mine is about 2000 a day.maybe gets to 2500.i dont get fat all all though.maybe because i do sports and am a teenager.
Not sure how much I consume, but I burn about 1200 at the gym thesedays when I go, which is almost everyday. I didn't go today :redface: :biggrin: However I went on a jog so yeah hopefully that made up for it.

i usually eat about 1500 calories a day. this is a conscious effort to do so. i put on weight so easily so eating this amount and working out helps me stay a size 10 :smile:
I think I eat less than the recommended but I'm not gonna bother to count calories. I eat when I'm hungry and don't eat when I'm not hungry....Works for me!
tbh i dont bother with the whole counting calories thing, i just make sure i eat every 3 hours (a balance of carbs, protein, healthy fats = depending on the time of the day) a diet should be a way of life not an obsession.

eat until you are full and only eat when you are hungry? if you stay active and eat well then you should be doing fine. remmeber that you are also growing so might need more than you think.
I dont know how much I take.But i reckon is higher than 2000-what women are meant to have. But thats okay because i do loads of sport and i am 5'10 whereas th average british female is about about 4'0 give or take.

i ideally get 3000 a day, though i'm an idiot and it usually ends up being lower... (hence i've lost 6 pounds in the last month...)
