I AM DOING THIS EXAM D

I love ICT, and i love the style of the exam paper.

I am doing early entry, both INFO1 and INFO2!!!

Basically, what i did is the following:
Download ALL the past papers available on the AQA website, along with the mark schemes (obviously).

Literally, learn what the mark scheme says. In the exam paper give A LOT of examples, be straight to the point and talk in detail. If you don't know the answer to something, waffle, and you will pick up a mark. It's AQA, thats how its done

Do you have any advice Magixxs?

I'm resitting this, just looked at the paper I did last May. No idea how I flopped so bad and got a C, one of the easiest exam papers I have ever set my eyes on.

    Good luck for this one.
Ive only started revising today - basic stuff tbh, just remember to link in your answer to long answer q's in conext to the question. You could waffle on about excellent ict and achieve no marks by not putting into context
Do you have any tips as youve done it before?

Well basically revise each topic lol.

Read the questions properly, some of them can be deceiving. On the essay question at the end make sure you produce a mind map before you start writing. Trust me it helps so much and lets one paragraph flow into the next.

Hi, im self teaching this AS course and have the INFO1 on Thursday, since i have no teacher to ask - is it true they don't mark your 'coursework' only the answers you leave in the answer booklet?

Also, are there any bits which you really need to know for the exam? Ive read through the book and feel most of it is just general ICT knowledge.

    I appreciate your time

Yup! You'r coursework does not get marked!! As long as it has what is needed, such as client requirements, processes, input, output etc. its all good. You need your name, Candidate number and you need to fill in that hand in AQA sheet.

    Good luck for tomorrow!

thanks man - but i have been self learning/teaching only since October and im going to take INFO2 also in January. So basically instead of spending a year learning this course - i have spent just over 2 months.

Hope i can get a decent AS grade though

I didn't spend a year, I started in September. On the main issue though, don't aim for Cs and Ds, you can do better, trust me, especially in this exam. Keep your hopes high, and work for it. Don't demotivate yourself!!
