If you are transferring course that has different payment schedule i fail to understand why SF can't assist.
Hardship fund could be an option but generally only after every other avenue has been looke at. Contact student Support at your new college/uni. Generally it's your uni that tell SF when to make payments.
    Good luck

It's a transfer to a Jan start, therefore it's classed as a withdrawal then a new application. As you cannot have two financial awards in one academic year (You have two seperate years, the Sep - Aug from old, and Jan - Dec for the new, but both within the 10/11 academic year) you won't be able to claim anything for the new course.
