this is a serious question! im a 19 year old girl and ive never had a proper relationship, ive had a few sexual encounters with random guys but only when im drunk. partly its because im quite shy but also i just dont really enjoy sex at all, i never particularly feel like i need it and i dont ever really get turned on when im with a guy. i guess what i wanted to know was, does anyone else feel like this? i dont know if im just kind of a freak or whether theres actually a medical reason for this?

Not necessarily, some people just aren't interested in sex until much later than puberty.
However, there may be a medical reson for it, eg. depression, so if I were you I would see a doctor
    good luck x

    Maybe you're asexual.

Asexual, possibly. Do you feel sexual attraction towards anyone?

    No. Not asexual.

You just haven't had the right person to explore yourself with. Slowly and comfortable, getting happy with sex.

    Trust me.

    The gf was the same.

Don't be too quick to label yourself as a **** and boring asexual.

Meh, I'm pretty much the same. I am attracted to guys, and get turned on by porn and vibrators. I don't get frustrated without sex, and sex of any kind or manual masturbation don't feel particularly good. If it's bothering you, then go and see a doctor. If you're just worried about being a freak- well, you basically are, since the definition of freak is someone different from everyone else. If having no sex just doesn't appeal to you and you're fine with that, then there's no problem!

It is quite possibly depression though. Don't discount it just because you aren't stereotypically depressed i.e. lying in bed all day sobbing and thinking about killing yourself.

go see your doctor, im pretty sure you can have a lack of sex drive from something as simple as lacking certain things in your diet or hormone imbalance so worth seeing your doctor. also maybe youre not comfortable with the people and maybe if you were in a relationship you would have a higher sex drive

Well, cheers for that. You do understand what asexuality is, right?

The only person who can decide whether an individual is asexual is that individual.

I'm a guy and I'm 18. To be completely honest I don't have a sex drive either. I mean, I don't mind having sex, but it's definitely not a main factor when I look for something in a relationship. I don't think something's wrong with you. btw I'm not gay if that sounded like that in any way at all.

Medically speaking it is estimated about 1% of the population is asexual (dictionary-'a person who lacks the desire for sexual experiences for pleasure'). This is a possibilty.

Another is of course that you just haven't found the right person yet. While obvious, some people respond very differently to others when it comes to sexual experience and it may take a while for you to find yourself comfortable and excited about it.

Thirdly, as teenager your libido and hormones are doing crazy things. It is perfectly normal for a sex drive to be low/non-existent during puberty (the late stages as well). As said in another post some sex drives don't appear until mid-20's.

As for the depression idea, personally I doubt it but I'm not a doctor. Perhaps look into that possiblity. A quck visit to your GP does no harm at all and could clear your mind.

The main thing I would say is don't judge yourself by the standards of others. Just because we live in a society where sex is glamourized doesn't mean you have something wrong with you. I'm not interested in sex either and it's personal choice (not force lol).

When people quickly label themselves as asexual my instantly associates them with boring.

I think it's just down to experience/finding the right person like someone said.

For example, I never masturbated till 16. I was never interested in it, but all the guys seem to make a big deal out of it.

Long story short - it changed my life.

Could be a number of things - stress, depression, not found the right guy, medication, etc. - what everyone else has said really.

The thing is, you don't seem traumatised by it, but you shouldn't let yourself get upset or down - you can improve a sex drive with many methods, just count yourself lucky you're not on the opposite end and unable to last an hour without some kind of sexual contact, that could get tiring
