Of course the greatest PMs of all time have all been Labour, but in the interest of impartiality I've chosen two Labour, two Tory and one Liberal to be included in the poll. Here is a brief description of the candidates:

Attlee - The man who pulled Britain out from the ruins after WW2 by expanding public services and social welfare, creating jobs and of course, our finest achievement, the NHS. A true Labour hero and one of the greatest Britons of all time.

Blair - The first PM of New Labour. The man who introduced the minimum wage, civil partnerships, devolution and the man who helped bring peace to Northern Ireland. Also the man who took Britain to war in Iraq.

Churchill - A man born into great wealth and privilege who used this to go on to become Conservative Prime Minister. Was PM during WW2, and took much of the credit for Britain's victory, despite having made little contribution. Known to be a sexist and a racist. Looked down on common Brits with contempt.

Lloyd George - Liberal Prime Minister who laid the foundations for the welfare state. The first and so far only Welsh PM of Britain.

Thatcher - Neoliberal who hated poor people. Destroyed communities and instilled the 'I'm in it for myself' mentality into the people of Britain. First female PM.

I see two people have voted for Churchill already. How predictable. I bet they're either Sun or Daily Mail readers who know nothing about politics.

    Are you questioning my impartiality?

This survey is entirely unbiased and presents nothing but what is known to be fact. I can't help it if the two Tory PMs held in highest regard were both *****, can I?

Wow! What a coincidence that the top two in the poll list are Labour prime ministers, I'm sure that has nothing to do with OP's own political views

Ahh so you are a troll.

Quite a good one in fairness.

Without Lloyd George we would have lost WW1, so I think we can safely say that we owe the most to him.

The Liberals were better than Labour ever were or will be, let's face it.

William Pitt the Younger. A fine politician who helped reduce our debt by a lot during his reign in the late 18th century.

Teveth's just trying to egg someone on to make a 'Greatest troll' thread because he knows he'll win.

Gladstone? Seriously no Gladstone? Put that crack pipe down, Teveth.

Voted for Atlee in the end. Churchill was a frankly terrible PM - great war time leader and just the sort of chap you need to bash the bosch, but his post-war term was mediocre at best.

Teveth you are a joke, if you want a serious political debate why don't you try a pinch of impartiality for once?

I voted for Attlee, but you're not much of a socialist if you hold Blair in such high regard.
