Nottingham is ALREADY giving out offers?!

I'm seriously wondering... because one of my good friend said he got a letter confirming an offer in Nottingham for business studies.

They gave him a list of "formal open days" which he has to attend in order to validate his offer and they haven't told him what the conditions (i.e grade requirements) is.

Has anyone else recieved anything like this? Cos no one else in my school has and i'm starting to get worried... :frown:

I think it depends on each uni and the course/department. In some unis / departments offers are given on a first come, first served basis.

Cos i haven't heard anything from them except from a letter saying they've got my application which is recieving "serious consideration"...

And no replies from anywhere else either...

Have you guys heard from Notts?

oh right. I thought you were worried that your friend had misunderstood the letter, or something.
I got the same letter you got, but I havn't heard anything yet from them -and Im not expecting to for a while. Check the portal if you're really worried, but I think it depends on how much they like you and how popular the course is. It'll come! don't panic!

guys dont worry, i didnt hear from notts till jan! durham didnt get back to me till after notts either, and oxford was january too!

chill! most unis like to wait till after ucas deadline so they can compare ALL their applicants, some however will give you offers before :biggrin:

That's some comfort coming to someone who applied last year~

But again, did you apply something like Medicine, for which they take longer to decide due to the interviews etc.

Same here... i can get in, but it doesn't really do anything. It just says "you've applied to blah, which is recieving serious consideration"

i applied for History, my friend who applied for English didnt hear until after me and in fact alot of my friends who applied to nottingham and durham etc didnt hear until xmas time and beyond! Seriously, get used to waiting and checking ucas track obsessively!

I got my offer from them last year in early October. It depends on the department - Comp Sci are fast.

Yup yup... i think their business dep is extra fast, my friend applied for that too.

I just thought economics will be kinda related, but i suppose language dep is always really slow...(applied to eco+german)

but isnt notts economics department one of the best in the country? im sure im not making that up!!! Generally if the offer is going to be AAA/AAB i think your gonna have to wait a while!
