Hey guys,

I would like to learn from former interns or recent grads what exactly do you do as a junior on a voice broking and electronic broking desk at an inter dealer broker.

After having read a few things on the internet I kinda have a feel for it but would like your input.

Thanks

So after an eternity of trying to make it into sales/trading, you've decided to become a voice broker?
You haven't thought this through have you?

They go home and cry whilst jerking off into a pot noodle.

Then, they eat the pot noodle.

Think you're just the office whore in your first year. Shadowing, learning how to use the programms etc, listening in on deals being made etc etc. The real work starts when you get your first client which I think is quite hard!

You might want to browse through some websites of large interdealer brokers for example ICAP & Tullet Prebon. Often they have case sudies of graduates & their progress through their first few years within the company giving an indication as to the daily tasks they might endure. Good luck.

You'll shadow people, learn the systems, go out most nights, do admin. And deliver food.
