    Hello guys,

    I was recently reading the prospectus for Keele University and their semester dates/academic year is slightly confusing.

    The dates provided are as followed:


    Can someone explain this to me please in a more simple way...
    Where is July and August?

    the academic year ends on 7/8th june (depending on the year) july and august are not listed as thats the summer holidays

    Monday 26 September - Friday 16 December = At University
    Monday 19 December - Friday 6 January = Christmas Break
    Monday 9 January - Friday 30 March = At University
    Monday 2 April - Friday 29 April = Easter Break
    Monday 1 May - Friday 8 June = At University
    Monday 11 June - Monday 24 September = Summer Break

    Roughly that?

    Yes, this is correct. Exam periods will be intergrated in to this timetable. At my University, for instance, there is a two week assessment period at the end of the first semester and a four week assessment period at the end of the second semester. It is likely that you will have some essays or other assignments to hand in during this time as well. July and August are not included because this forms part of the summer vacation.
