Hey guys, I work at Tesco part time, 10 paid hours a week but obviously do overtime when I can and I see fit.

As part of the new flexicontract, I am under the impression I am to work Bank Holidays, two questions.

Am I right in thinking Monday and Tuesday are bank holiday's? Does that mean I am required to work?

Second, I work Saturday's and Sunday's and I have New Years Day off, however, the Bank Holiday for that apparently falls on the 3rd, which is a Monday. Do I take that off too considering it's a Bank Holiday which was scheduled for my day off?

Thanks very much for any help.

You need to ask them what they're doing in regards to bank holidays. Where I work, which is retail but not Tesco, Monday and Tuesday are normal days. As they're normally open 7 days a week they can do what they like.

This... OP ask your line manager and check in your staff handbook issued on induction. I assume that you're in Scotland if you're asking whether next tuesday is classed as a bank holiday?
