My A level results won't be released in August 2011 like a lot of other students'.

Instead, they will be released at the end of January 2011.

According to universities' and UCAS' information, A level results will be sent directly to the universities by UCAS automatically.

Can I assume this does not apply for international students such as myself, as I took CIE A levels?

How do I make sure that universities receive/know my final A level results? I do not know whether or not they are aware that the results will be released next month (even though this is indicated on the UCAS online form).

This is important because a university which has not yet replied may make me an offer right away if I already have the results.

    Thank you.

UCAS only receive A Level results in August. You will need to notify unis directly if you want them to get your results any earlier than this.

Oh, I see. Rather inconvenient. I will email the universities then.

Do you think I'll have to mail them anything?

It will depend on the uni. They may accept a scanned and emailed copy or your results, or if you have access to a fax machine they may let you do it that way. But be prepared to have to post them a copy of your results slip so they can see it hasn't been altered.

In another thread some people claimed the universities do get to see January A level results. One person also said for Cambridge A levels the unis would get it directly.

Regardless, I'll have to check anyway.

    Thanks.

The other people were slightly wrong - unis will receive A Level results in August which will include details of earlier exams. But they will not see your January results as soon as you get them. So you'll know you've met your offer but the uni don't.
