# functions question Watch

1. Given this function $\sqrt[4]{t(8-t)}$ what is the inverse function and what are the domain and range?

It's not a one-to-one so will have to limit the domain to [0,4]

Basically I've not got a mark scheme so just want to verify my answers. Thankyou
2. If you don't know the answers you can try using www.wolframalpha.com. I don't know if this is the correct answer but you get 4+-sqrt(16-t^4) if you enter it into that website.

Thanks, I've been on that site before but it usually just shows the integral, derivative and a graph. How do you get it to show inverse and limits?

If you add 'limits of' and then enter the function, it should give you the correct answer. You can also write 'integrate' and then the function which should give you the answer. So you just write what you want to find before the function and it should come up with the correct answer. Although it didn't this time, occasionally, the words 'show steps' will appear. This then shows you how it reached the solution it reached, although this doesn't happen very often, only with certain types of questions.
