I'm an international applicant, sent in my UCAS form in October only to discover that my priorities have changed and a university not within my 5 choices would be a much better fit for me, in terms of both the course and setting. I would happily cancel one of my choices and replace it with this one, but it doesn't look as though that's possible on UCAS. Is "Extra" my only hope at this point? Is it possible for the university to make an exception if I called up and explained, or does UCAS have overriding authority in admissions?

Extra and, if that fails, Clearing/Adjustment. UCAS can make exceptions under unusual circumstances, but this doesn't sound like it will be one - still, could try contacting them (after January 4th) and trying.
