Not a spot of the old bubonic plague is it?

If his period is due he has real problems.

Just go and get it checked out by your GP, I really wouldn't rely on an internet forum for matters concerning your health.

thereare lymph nodes in that area too....the key ones for that matter...so its more then likely that its the same thing as you had in your neck...

nb i only have an A level in bio so im just speculating

Ok so I am an immunologist so this is sort of my field. It is almost certainly a lymph node. In simple terms-when there is an infection in the body lymphocytes drain to regional lymph nodes some of which are in the armpits. The increased number of lymphocytes causes the lymph nodes to swell and they can become painful.

If it still hurts in a week go to the doctor

Could well be a lymph node, especially under your arm. Don't panic, if your other lymph nodes are swollen then that's probably what it is. Go to the doc and get it checked out but in the meantime don't worry.
