    Alright,
so it's my last year of university, and I wanna get out travelling and working a bit. So i've been looking at work america and work canada with BUNAC. It seems that Work America doesn't have a deadline for applying (though I reckon a couple of months before I'd want to leave is best...) and Canada visas tend to run out.

I was wondering, is it possible for me to apply for both the work America and the Work Canada? So i can do my 4 months in America, and then after that move to Canada and do my year there? Or can I only apply for one at a time? Reason being that I'm graduating this year so just want to get the America work visa!

Also, anybody with experience of getting jobs related to their degree out there, with no experience in the industry back home?

You won't be able to do Work America if you've graduated when you arrive there.

Student status To be eligible you must be a current full-time student at a UK or Irish university* on a degree level or HND course (or equivalent). Final year students are eligible to apply. Gap year students, distance learning, Open University and those on professional courses such as ACCA are not eligible.

Surely, if you're in your final year they don't expect you to skip your graduation...

EDIT: Similar thing here : http://www.ccusa.co.uk/ProgramsOffer...igibility.aspx

When I did the programme I managed to find an internship with an ad agency - it wasn't a "job" technically but it was an an amazing way to get experience. Presumably, without any experience it would be difficult to get a job in any area but I would definitely recommend looking for an internship (bear in mind it may be unpaid). If you don't find employment or an internship in your chosen career field, don't worry! The experience of working aborad - even if it's in retail/hospitality still looks great on your cv and will give you something to talk about in interviews - plus you'll have the time of your life! I would recommend booking your place on Work America as soon as you can to ensure you pre-arrange a job from our exclusive jobs directory.

Haha! Well it's up to you whether you want to go to your graduation, getting a flight home for it could be pretty expensive

On a personal note, I skipped my graduation two years ago when I did Work America. I had a party in Los Angeles and spent the next three weeks travelling down through California. It was the best time of my life. Obviously everyone is different, but to me I absolutely do not regret missing the ceremony to go travelling - I got the certificate and amazing photos and memories- that's all that matters

This is incorrect - Work America is open to final year students
