My driving instructor once saw Ibrahim Tatlises and asked him for an autograph and pic.

Ibo told him he was busy and couldn't do it now, but would do it next time they met..

Next thing you know, Ibo got shot in the head.

why surprising?

from a quick google search he appears to be a singer right?
mum is pretty restricted to tarkan, candan erectin (i can never remember how you spell her name), serder ortac, and sertab erener

there are a few others
but musically she is a numpty lol

He's one of the most famous and richest musicians in Turkey.

And his shooting was highly publicised on the news. But I only found out about that because my mum told me. :getmecoat:

He has his own carpet company as well. :cool:

He's in Germany undergoing some special treatment I think. On the path to recovery.

my knowledge of turkish popular culture stems as far as watching the turkish tv and my mum going oh you met him once at your uncles club

Cool. Last I heard, he was starting to move. That was about 6 or so months ago.

I don't bother to watch Turkish tv any more. Low quality programmes and worst of all, the bloody adverts. :shakecane:

Might tune in for the odd Kurtlar Vadisi though.

we dont have it anymore cos we moved house
but it helped me and my younger brother to pick up the language a bit

but yes the adverts were infuriating

I haven't watched it properly for about 7/8 years probably. However if I decide to work in Istanbul, I will start watching loads of tv, reading the newspapers and books to polish off my fluency. There are a few decent shows from time to time.
