hi, lam new to this site. l have a problem, l was cautioned by the police for providing a family reference to gain employement, l got a job and 2years down the line l went on maternity leave in september 2007 and in march 2008 l was arrested for theft of money and a cheque book from client. after interview the police realised l was already on maternity leave when the crime was commited, and no further action was taken. however, they gave me a caution for providing a family references as they said my employer did not allow personal reference. l accepted the caution, the police officer assured me that it was not going to affect my career as l was studying youth and community development. l passed my degree with a 2:1 but now the problem is l can not get a job for nearly a year. l lost all hope, l feel helpless, and l have lost confidence. please help me.
is a caution a criminal conviction?
