I've been on the Yasmin pill for just under 3 months now, almost finished my 3 packet.
I've had really bad headaches, and a serious loss of appetite recently, as well as a decreased sex drive (it's effecting my relationship with my bf, although he understands).
I don't understand why my doctor put me on Yasmin, one of the most expensive pills, right from the cheapest of the lot, Microgynon 30.
Also I read up on the internet about blood clots, and apparently it's one to stay off.
I dunno, I don't want to keep swapping pills all the time, it's annoying for me, and my doctor.
What are people's experiences with it?

I'm on my second pack of Yasmin pills ( so 4th set ) and so far haven't had a problem, I went on Microgynon 30 nearly a year a half ago to help with my periods (literally stuck in bed for a week they were that bad :/) so not from a contraceptive side. I also take codeine, mefanemic acid and anti nausea pills though so this may affect my opinion of them. I have found them to be better than Microgynen despite the downsides (price etc) I haven't put on weigh like I did with Microgynen and I haven't suffered from anything you state other than loss of appetite, but I have tried to curb my eating anyway :P (It is christmas and I don't want to gain too much weight lol). But yeah, they work for me, however I am going to have the injection next year simply to stop my period all together and stop having to take like 20pills a day to make me feel alive. So if it is something that bothers you, I would go in for either the implant or the injection, simply you don't have to take the pills every day at a set time and you have a lot less side effects to worry about x
