I'll be interested in competing ^___^ Any tips on the length of the novel?

I'd be interested to see which university is running this and the official notice that they're hosting it before I do anything, though. Don't wanna sign copyright off of anything for no reason!

    Hey there.
    Great stuff.

I think they are trying not to set a word cap or anything and are going with the old cliche that 'the winning book will be however long it needs to be'.

However I would recommend in actual fact writing/submitting a fairly substantial piece. The competition is to do with finding new publishable young authors and so I think they are looking for good quality books of a similar length as you may find a small book in a store.

    Hope that helps

I've shared this on FB. I have not got enough material yet, so am unprepared. A great idea though.

I have written a short crime story, and had it photocopied in the short writing course at TAFE a few years ago. Also I have been published in Connect Magazine with an article in the February 2009 edition. I'm a freelance journalist, poet - performance too, song lyric writer, writer.
