Since stopping drinking when going out to pubs, clubs and parties I have found my success rates with women far improved (over doubled) as I can actually think more clearly, and be far more witty etc, entertaining and better at manipulating.

Anyone else find this? Share your experiences.

Maybe if you only go out to get women, admittedly it's a major component of why I go out these days. I might try it some time. My conscience would probably bother me with the manipulative stuff, maybe I just need to become more sociopathic...

I find going out is more fun when tipsy. Whilst sober I tend to get bored and when wasted I usually lose my lunch & dignity.

    Tipsy wins for me!

By manipulation I mean socialising better. As all social interaction is effectivly manipulation, a means to get what we want from somebody without breaking laws etc.

Tipsy wins. Enough alcohol that you become chattier and your feet don't hurt, but not so much that the world begins to spin or you feel like you're about to throw up.

Yeah disagree with being completely sober, I'd much rather be tipsy, so I still have a functioning brain, and I'm not bored watching everyone else fall over the place and me looking like a boring old sod.

Out of interest: can you not be chatty enough without alcohol and become hurt often without it? REALLY???

People proclaim that they have a better time tipsy, but that's partially to do with their inhibitions, and how being under the influence of alcohol allows them to be feel much more relaxed.

I agree about it all being manipulation. A lot of people would like to think it isn't, but I believe a lot goes on subconciously. Part of why I'm studying Psychology in my spare time.

I'd probably have a couple of drinks to loosen up though rather than staying totally sober.

Not in a situation where everyone else has been drinking, no. I can't compete with tipsy/drunk people without being tipsy myself...makes sense, I reckon.

And I don't become hurt sober, I become hurt pissed BUT I meant that with regard to wearing heels - an entire night in stilettos sober is nigh on impossible, but with a bit of alcohol is much easier because it dulls the muscle ache.

Why do you find talking to people who have been drinking harder than people who haven't been?

I do get jealous of all my drunk mates when walking back from a night out on a cold day, they don't seem to care much (they call it a drunk coat or something), whilst I am freezing to death. Apart from that, I enjoy nights out sober.

I bet you feel proud, having to prey on drunken girls is the only way you can score. Almost pitiful.

Yes, I go a couple of times a week on average and don't have any problem, just wondering why you do?

I never said I did this. I don't find drunk girls attractive, I find it a sort of disgraceful due to my unliberated attitude of women.

You're also getting confused by the meaning of manipulation. By manipulation I mean socialising better. As all social interaction is effectivly manipulation, a means to get what we want from somebody without breaking laws etc.

But even if I did, it would become ok if I was drunk myself would it?
