    Anyone else seen this? Great program following a (fictional) US platoon invading Iraq in 2003. Apparently it's by the same people as the Wire which speaks for itself.

    Yeah I've seen it. Pretty awesome show. It's not fictional, its based on the writings of the reporter who was embedded in the actual unit during the invasion.

    Ah I didn't know that, I was trying to say it's not a real-life documentary. Perhaps I should have said staged instead.

    yeah i watch it on a regular basis, its excellent, it shows the us army after iraq invasion and their reaction when the first soldier was kidnapped and murdered

    Just to point out: The First Recon Battalion is 100% real and the reporter Evan Wright spent a few weeks with that unit, with real soldiers. Their names are also real. Nothing fictional really about the book or the show.

    Anyway, the show was a bit boring tbh. Looked pretty low-budget. The book was much MUCH better. Josh Ray Pearson was awesome. :ahee:
