    Hi,

I am an international student hoping to study Architecture in UK. However, I am qutie confused regarding the application to this course. I understand that my UCAS application deadline for the 2011 cycle is 15 Jan 2011. However, for Architecture a portfolio is almost, in all cases, requried. So how do I know the deadline for portfolio submission? Is it the same 15 Jan deadline whereby I have to send to the individual universities or do I wait for further instructions from them?

I have a feeling I have already missed some of the deadlines but this is reallyt confusing so if you guys could help me out here I would greatly appreciate it!

(Most universities hardly reply to me queries through email, instead sending my automated answers that direct me back to the uni sites, which leaves me in confusion again... :'( HELP!!!)

Don't know if I'm right, but I thought they ask for a portfolio separately. So for instance they'll reject certain people who wont get the grades then ask for portfolios for those who may so they can decide who to make offers to. So I thought there is no 'deadline' for everyone, they give you a certain amount of time to complete it if they think you'll meet the grades and have a decent PS. That's what I think, I may be wrong.

I too have not sent my application off but it should be going off as soon as my college starts again.

So if u r right, then I should just wait for further instructions regarding portfolio and just send in my UCAS application?

    Thanks again!

I'm not an international student, but I think it's the same. I'm not entirely sure so it'd be better to wait for a reply from someone more sure

You wait for further instructions from each uni, they'll tell you the portfolio deadline. You've not missed anything so far.

They usually take about a month to get back to you after the application is sent off, then give you maybe 3 weeks to send them the portfolio. This varies between unis though.
