Okay so, I have a problem. I applied to do architecture (K100) at university and out of the 5 offers, i got 4 (Nottingham Uni, Sheffield, Liverpool JM and Birmingham City). I got rejected from Manchester Uni, and that was my preferred choice. i contacted the uni asking why i got rejected but the person who deals with all that is away till january 10th.
now, i wanted to go to manchester uni, but realistically looking at the problem, i wanted to get your opinion on the following options.

    (1) apply to manchester uni directly hoping they will reconsider my application for the SAME academic year.

    (2) ask to go through the waiting list/clearing

    (3) apply through UCAS EXTRA to manchester uni

    (4) apply to a similar course at manchester uni (i,e. architectural technology) then transfer over to architecture.

    (5) go to another uni doing architecture then transfer to manchester uni to do architecture after a year or so.

Options such as a gap year im not really considering but i'd like to know your thoughts on the following options and if there is any other options that you can suggest then feel free to share.

    Thanks for the help.

If Manchester rejected you then they arent going to reconsider your application. Nottingham and Sheffield are both highly regarded universities, you should take up your place at one of those. You can't guarentee that Manchester will have any similar courses in extra/clearing and if they do, they may reject you again for the reasons they rejected you in the first place.

My advice would be- firm either Sheffield or Nottingham, and insure either JMU or Brum City. If you are really unhappy at whichever uni you end up at, then reapply, but remember their are no guarentees they will accept you.
