Visit both and compare locations. Also, compare the modules on offer at both since the courses are different.

While it's helpful to ask for comments on an interest forum, it's important to realise that nothing will help with advice on location or atmosphere like actually visiting and feeling for yourself.

    Loughborough.

Though I went there so I'm bias. I've never seen Southampton university. Loughborough is great though, lovely campus, nice halls, good union (the students own the recently refurbished union building which has several shops and nightclub rooms) and great extra-circulars like sports (obviously) and societies. Soc-Fed (Societies federation) is really growing at the moment and is great, there's a society for just about everything =)

I had my interview at Loughborough a few weeks ago and from what I've heard the business school is really good (my course is in the same department as business). The actual area Loughborough is quite small, certainly compared to London where I'm from but that could be a good thing. Nightlife is good, you're near Leicester and Nottingham if you get bored and Manchester's not too far either.

It's one of the sportiest unis going and they have great facilities, this makes no difference to me as I'm not sporty in the slightest. Loughborough definitely seems to be more suited to you based on what you've said, but I suppose I'm quite biased seeing as it's my firm
