What do I need to do to get into medicine at Oxford or Cambridge Watch

    • Thread Starter

I am in year 12 at the moment and would love to go to Oxford or Cambridge to study medicine. I got 9 A*s and 2As at GCSE and am currently studying bio, chem, maths, critical thinking, spanish

I know you need more than good grades. What else could I do to help myself?

Contrary to popular belief, Oxbridge go for people who study what they want to do (in your case, the sciences) beyond the curriculum.

Basically, what you're doing now is fine, but you need to get straight A's (A*s would obviously put you in good stead) and read as much about modern medicine as you can.

If you could get some work experience shadowing a doctor or something (nothing strenuous, just like every other weekend or something), that could be a focal point for your interview.

Just before you get critical, I got all this information from various articles and friends' experiences, not necessarily because I was thinking of applying. Hope I helped
