It's getting late and I still haven't found an issue. My teacher is really awkward and every topic I propose he shoots me down and tells me it's "too modern studies". I'm getting stressed because I just can't find something that is right. I am considering doing it on the three gorges dam in China, would this be a good topic? My teacher is really low on information and I have no idea how to start! Has anyone had experience with this and can give me any advice? I feel really alone in this because only one other person is doing it and I can't get meaningful help from teachers!

My issues essay was on the Three Georges Dam, there's a lot of information out there and you shouldn't have too much of a problem looking for sources. Other good topics would be on malaria, primary health care, biofuels or even the one child policy in China. We were advised to look at current affairs in the news, and have a look at articles on google scholar etc.

New Forth Road Bridge? Plenty of arguments for and against, local pressure groups, widely reported in national and local press, etc

    National Trust for Scotland reform?

    Deer culls?

Forestry Commission sell off (in England mainly)?

5 years ago I did Dalkeith Northern By-pass. We were also given an example based on the Beauly-Denny line. The SQA site also lists a few ideas.

I'm the same although I think I've got a topic.

Does anyone know where to find examples of issues essays? I really don't have a clue on how to begin setting it out.
